Veteran's Day is celebrated on November 11th because on November 11, 1918 (the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month) World War I ended. People thought that it was the war to end all wars so it became known as Armistice Day. Unfortunately, war broke out in 1939 and shattered that dream. Armistice Day was changed to Veteran's Day to honor all soldiers who have served in the military. Have a great holiday and do something nice for a vet.

Monday
Create a tree map sorting words by their spelling rule (check the book)

Tuesday
Create a flow map by putting spelling words in alphabetical order

Wednesday
Create a bridge map with words showing, synonyms, or word meaning and antonyms.

Thursday
Create a tree map sorting spelling words by number of syllables
Study for test

Friday
Test day.

Students should include all 30 words in each map except Wednesday's bridge map. On Wednesday they only need to use 20 words. All spelling should be done in their best cursive.
